Grand Prismatic Overlook

Park at Fairy Falls Trailhead and walk about a mile to the spur that climbs to the overlook platform. From the boardwalk below you are too close and too low to see the ring of color that makes Grand Prismatic famous; from up here the whole spring reads at once. Mid-morning to early afternoon on a clear, still day gives the best color, because heavy steam on cold mornings hides everything.
