Free dispersed camping

Five legal free sites on Forest Service roads within forty minutes of the highway, three of which a normal car can reach in dry conditions and two that want clearance. No water, no toilets, pack everything out. The rule in this district is fourteen days in any thirty and at least a hundred feet from water. The two higher sites hold snow into June some years. Get there Thursday if you want a weekend spot; by Friday evening they are taken.
